This image was photographed from a distance using my Fujifilm 100-400mm lens, allowing me to capture the moment without getting anywhere near them. Seals resting on the beach need space to feel safe. If they are disturbed or frightened, they may rush back into the water before they are ready, which can cause unnecessary stress and, in more serious cases, can put their wellbeing at risk. The best thing you can do is watch from a safe distance, keep noise to a minimum, and let them carry on resting naturally.
